A Clackamas County, Ore., couple accused of letting their infant daughter die by relying on prayer, rather than medicine, today asked that the charges be dropped, arguing that they infringe on their freedom of religion and their right to raise their children in their own way.
The actual charge may be manslaughter, but murder by dogma and ignorance is what it really is. I hope the charges stand.
This is a clear-cut case of religion gone bad (of course in my view, religion is at its base level bad). This child could have been saved simply by being given antibiotics. Yet many of these whackaloons would cry foul if a fetus was aborted. Which is worse?
