A ‘Galactica’ Spinoff
The great thing about science fiction is that the future never runs out. As it prepares for the final season of its television space opera “Battlestar Galactica,” the Sci Fi Channel has announced it is preparing a spinoff that will take place in the decades before “Battlestar Galactica.” The new show, “Caprica,” will be set 50 years earlier (in the future), and will follow the fortunes of two competing families, the Adamas and the Greystones, leading to the events of the “Battlestar Galactica” series. The cast of “Caprica” is to include Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales, and its executive producers include Ronald D. Moore, the producer of the “Battlestar Galactica” revival. Production on “Caprica” is scheduled to begin next year, and the show is expected to make its debut on Sci Fi in 2010.
I am so psyched about this, I can’t tell ya!
